How To Use
How to Apply Your Luxe Press-Ons
Our nails are designed to look and feel like a full acrylic set — but how long they last comes down to application. Follow these steps for up to 3 weeks of flawless wear.
What you'll need
- Your Luxe Press-Ons set
- Nail glue (strongly recommended — not included)
- A nail file or buffer
- Nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol
A note on glue: we strongly recommend using nail glue over the jelly adhesive tabs that come in some sets. Glue gives you a far stronger, longer-lasting hold — the difference between a few days of wear and the full 3 weeks.
Step 1 — Prep your natural nails
Push back your cuticles and trim your natural nails short. Gently file and buff the surface of each nail to roughen it slightly — this gives the glue something to grip onto and dramatically improves how long the press-ons stay on.
Step 2 — Dehydrate and clean
Wipe each nail with nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol to strip away any natural oils, lotion, or residue. Your nails must be completely dry and oil-free before applying — moisture and oil are the number one reason press-ons lift early.
Step 3 — Size your nails
Match each press-on to the correct finger by finding the best fit from your set. Lay them out in order before you start gluing so you're not fumbling mid-application.
Step 4 — Apply the glue
Apply a generous layer of nail glue across your entire natural nail, then add a small blob of glue to the inside of the press-on. Let the glue sit for 5-10 seconds then apply. Double-gluing like this is the secret to a long-lasting hold.
Step 5 — Press and hold
Align the press-on with your cuticle and press down firmly. Hold each nail in place for at least 30 seconds — no shortcuts here. The longer you hold, the stronger the bond. Repeat for all ten fingers.
Step 6 — Let them set
Avoid water, washing up, or anything wet for at least one hour after application. Give the glue time to fully cure and you'll get the longest possible wear.
Pro tips
- Don't use your nails as tools — no opening cans, scratching off stickers, or peeling labels
- Wear gloves for washing dishes and cleaning
- If a nail starts to lift, remove it, clean both surfaces with alcohol, and reapply with fresh glue
- Store leftover nails in the original case so you can reuse them up to 3 times
Removal
To remove, soak your nails in warm soapy water for 10-15 minutes, then gently lift each press-on from the edge. Never force or pry them off — if there's resistance, soak for longer or use acetone. Clean any residual glue with a buffer and you're ready for your next set.
